*Jasper Tx Map On the 25th we travelled from near Jasper, Texas to the Paragon Casino RV Resort in Marksville, Louisiana. We plan on spending 5 maybe 6 nights here. Jasper, TX (75951) Today. Thunderstorms likely. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Returned again to French Lick casino. This time stayed in the new Valley Towers. This is a great out of the way casino with sportsbook and large smokefree casino. They took temps and had metal detector and lots of cleaners. They require masks. This was a great place to gamble! Monday we left Mathis for Hub City RV Park in Yoakum Texas. It is a nice city park with full hookups for $13 a night. We stayed the 17th and the 18th due to the storm. We had high winds and lots of rain. We had a Tornado warning in the counties just west and north of us. The rain was full of dirt and our nice clean truck and trailer looks like we drove through an off road mud track.
Wednesday we left Yoakum for Holiday RV Park in College Station, Texas. I went for propane and diesel. I was at a stop light, after just passing an accident and two cars rear ended the truck behind me. The two cars had to be towed, the truck looked OK. It is a big college town and has thousand of college students this time a year. It was a very busy stop, as we stocked up at Walmart.
Thursday we left College Station for a Core of Engineer Park near Jasper Texas, in the piney woods area. We are at Sandy Creek COE Park for the 20,21,22,23, and 24th March. It is about 79.9 degrees to-day and the park is very nice. It is nearly full for the Easter weekend. This is a great park for 3 day or more stay. Well off the road and $8 (Golden age Passport) a night for E/W.

The temperature in the shade is 100.9 degrees. Yesterday it was a bit hotter. Yesterday we were late turning on the airconditioning, and therefore it ran continually until the sun went down. I tried to get some of my ,getting ready to go, outside work done in the AM. I was working up until noon and it is too hot to be outside. It was so hot that the stick on convex mirror on the drivers side of the truck, lost it’s sticking power and fell to the ground. At least it will cool off tonight. Before the start of April they will have to run airconditioning 24/7. We will be glad to be on the move on the 18th of March and the temperatures should be a little cooler about 200 miles north of here. Up-date 117.1 degees in the sun and 104.7 in the shade.
